Key Features
The AVPro Edge Fresco 4 is designed for installations that need to arrange one video source across four displays. Directly out of the box, it can create a plug-and-play video wall by connecting the source and displays without an initial setup process. It is also suited to systems that require independent output scaling, bezel compensation, or extracted stereo audio alongside the video wall.
Fresco 4 combines video wall processing, scaling, configuration software, and audio de-embedding in one unit. Its PC software allows the dimensions of each display to be entered individually, then adjusts the image to compensate for the bezels. This helps maintain a cohesive picture when the wall uses panels with different physical characteristics.
The built-in scaler provides control over the output signal rather than requiring every connected component to use one fixed format. Output can be configured from 720 resolution through a 4K60 18Gbps signal, with intermediate settings available to suit the system. For larger configurations, cascading can extend the video wall to 3×3 or greater by stacking Fresco 2×2 processors.
The processor provides Type A HDMI connections for the source and four displays. With Bullet Train HDMI cables, the listed HDMI input/output distance for 4K60 4:4:4 is up to 50 feet. Using Bullet Train active optical cable increases the listed distance to as much as 130 feet at the same signal format.
Control options include LAN, RS-232, and Micro USB. The RJ45 LAN connection supports a web interface for control, while RS-232 is provided through a three-pin terminal block. Extracted balanced analog audio uses a five-pin terminal block. These connections give an integrator multiple ways to configure the processor or incorporate it into a controlled AV system.
The unit measures 1.2 x 5.45 x 11.69 inches in height, depth, and width and weighs 2.5 pounds. Maximum total power consumption is 6 watts. The supplied power specification lists AC 100-240V at 50/60Hz input and DC 12V, 2A output. Its operating range is 23 to 125°F, with supported relative humidity from 5% to 90% without condensation.
Video support reaches 4K at 60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma and 18Gbps bandwidth. Supported chroma sampling also includes 4:2:2 and 4:2:0. Deep color capability extends to 16-bit at 1080 and 12-bit at 4K. Listed VESA resolution compatibility includes DCI 4K at 4096 x 2160 and 5K resolutions up to 5120 x 3200.
Color processing supports component YUV and RGB, with conversion modes identified for Rec. 601, Rec. 709, BT2020, DCI, and P3 D6500. Content protection compatibility includes HDCP 2.2 and earlier versions.
The supported HDMI audio list covers PCM 2.0, LPCM 5.1 and 7.1, Dolby Digital, DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-X, and Dolby Atmos. The extracted two-channel connection supports PCM 2-channel audio.
Its combination of plug-and-play startup and detailed panel compensation addresses both simple and more customized video walls. An installation can begin with one source and four displays, then use the PC software to account for individual panel dimensions and bezels. Support for mixing display brands and sizes provides additional flexibility when identical panels are not being used.
Audio de-embedding further separates Fresco 4 from a processor focused exclusively on picture layout. The processor provides digital coax output together with a five-pin balanced stereo analog breakout, allowing the video wall source audio to be routed separately. Built-in scaling, multiple control interfaces, and cascading support reduce the need to treat these functions as unrelated parts of the system.
AVPro Edge Fresco 4 is a focused 1×4 video wall processor for four-display systems that require 4K60 4:4:4 support, 18Gbps bandwidth, scaling, and panel-aware image adjustment. Its LAN web interface, RS-232 control, flexible panel configuration, and balanced PCM stereo extraction provide practical integration options, while cascading offers a documented path to 3×3 and larger video walls.
