Key Features
The RDL RU-NL2P converts two Dante network audio signals into two professional balanced line-level outputs. Its two-channel design combines 24-bit digital-to-analog conversion, nominal +4 dBu output, more than 18 dB of headroom, and support for 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates. The interface can operate from 24 Vdc or Class 0 IEEE 802.3af PoE and is equipped for rack or surface mounting.
The RU-NL2P is suited to professional audio installations that need to extract two audio signals from a Dante network and deliver them as balanced analog outputs. It can serve as an interface between networked audio distribution and equipment requiring professional line-level signals. Its detachable terminal-block outputs and rack- or surface-mounting capability make it appropriate for fixed system integration, equipment racks, and installations where the interface must be secured near connected analog equipment.
This model provides two balanced outputs operating at a nominal +4 dBu level, with more than 18 dB of available headroom above that level. The specified audio operating relationship is 18 dBFS equals +4 dBu. Each output uses a detachable terminal block and has an impedance of 150 ohms balanced or 75 ohms unbalanced. Signal LEDs indicate audio activity for the Dante sources, while additional indicators report network system, synchronization, Ethernet link, Ethernet speed, and power status. Outputs automatically mute when the digital audio inputs are inactive.
Network connectivity is provided through an RJ45 connector with Link and Speed indicators, operating at a 100 Mbps transmission rate with the Dante digital audio Ethernet protocol. The RU-NL2P supports 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates, with 48 kHz identified as the default. Power can be supplied at 24 Vdc and 105 mA through either the power jack or detachable terminal block, or through Class 0 IEEE 802.3af PoE. The model supports normal or hot-standby operation from PoE. Recommended power supplies are the PS-24AS for the USA and PS-24AX for international use.
The enclosure measures 5.8 inches wide, 1.7 inches high, and 5.2 inches deep. Its specified ambient operating range is 0 degrees C to 40 degrees C. Rack and surface mounting options allow the unit to be positioned according to the physical requirements of the installation.
High-resolution 24-bit digital-to-analog conversion is paired with RDL analog filtering. Frequency response is specified from 20 Hz to 20 kHz within plus or minus 0.5 dB, while THD+N is less than 0.05 percent. Noise below +4 dBu is specified at less than -80 dB while an output is active and less than -95 dB when the outputs are muted. The supplied technical data lists crosstalk at less than 85 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. These specifications document performance across the full stated audio frequency range.
The RU-NL2P brings Dante reception, dual professional analog outputs, status monitoring, automatic output muting, and PoE capability together in one compact interface. Separate audio, synchronization, system, link, and speed indications provide direct operating feedback at the unit. PoE can reduce the need for a dedicated local DC supply when compatible network power is available, while the two 24 Vdc connection methods provide additional integration choices. Balanced detachable terminal-block outputs support permanent professional wiring without changing the unit’s nominal +4 dBu operating level.
For systems requiring two Dante audio signals to be converted to two balanced professional line outputs, the RDL RU-NL2P provides a clearly specified two-channel solution. Its 24-bit conversion, 44.1 and 48 kHz support, more than 18 dB of headroom, 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, automatic muting, comprehensive status indicators, and choice of 24 Vdc or PoE power address both audio performance and installation requirements. Rack- and surface-mounting support completes a design intended for integrated professional audio systems.
